Most of Instagram is garbage. Scrolling through endless memes, ads, and random slop feels like is junk food for your brain. I wanted something different — something more informative, interactive, and straightforward.
So with the help of some AI and coding, I built a new feature on Fraywire called… The Wire.
What It Is
The Wire is a scrolling feed, kind of like Instagram, but instead of junk it’s packed with useful market and economic info. Think news, charts, and interesting data — all in one place, easy to scroll through, quick to digest.
You don’t have to post anything or “build” a following. The feed is automatically curated from the backend.

Under the Hood
This isn’t some hacked-together blog. Underneath the feed is a whole system I’ve been writing by hand:
- Multiple data pipes pull in news, charts, and economic stuff from different sources in real time.
- The base algorithm decides what shows up so you’re not stuck seeing the same thing over and over.
- Math-driven batching keeps the feed balanced and loads content in chunks so it feels instant.
- Caching and database tricks make it fast even when hundreds of things are updating at once.
It’s basically a small market terminal that looks like a social feed. All the math and mechanics are behind the scenes so you can just scroll.
